Liquen Data Lab was born from the desire to bring awareness and care to the places where knowledge is produced and shared. We believe that growth and innovation should not erase critical thinking or collective memory. Too often, the pursuit of “progress” overlooks the social and ecological costs of technology and reinforces privilege around access to knowledge.
We witness the degradation of academic and educational institutions, where curiosity-driven and inclusive communities are increasingly threatened by archaic political and economic models. Against this backdrop, Liquen stands with feminist, ecological, and tech communities that value diversity, interdependence, and the vital connections between humans, machines, and nature.
Our mission is to occupy the academic and cultural landscape with feminist politics, addressing structural inequalities through informed storytelling, design practice, and research. We aim to deliver new insights on behavioural patterns in digital, urban, and biological systems, nurturing innovative knowledge communities that care for both people and the planet.
We believe in mutualistic relationships among organizations, institutions, NGOs, companies, and communities, as a way to prevent gendered, colonial, and speciesist toxic dynamics — and to cultivate equitable, sustainable, and interdependent futures.
